DELCO SOCCER LEAGUE 2018-2019 WINTER SEASON information

The DELCO Soccer League is now accepting registrations for the upcoming Delco Winter League season.

The winter season will start in in December 8th (weather permitting), run through mid-March and will be an EPYSA Cup Qualifying league, providing teams EPYSA team registration and 3-8 games for U-12 through U-19 teams.

The Delco Soccer League will again offer several options for the winter league.

1) U 12, U13 and & U 14 age groups - These age groups are for teams with players who wish to play a winter schedule rather than a fall one to avoid conflicts with school ball.

2) Early winter league that will include an early play of games division for those teams who want to play winter league to get cup qualified but have commitments throughout the winter and spring with tournaments and training etc. This will feature a short season format if there are enough teams that apply for this format. This format will be a 1-3 weekends of cup qualifying games in December, early January. Registering teams for this format will work with the league winter commissioner to arrange schedules. If you are signing up for this division you are guaranteed games on 1-3 weekends. Due to weather, we are strongly encouraging the use of turf fields for these games but each club will arrange its games like they do for DELCO Fall and Spring. Weekends can be as early as 12/02 and as late as 2/26.

3) Traditional winter league that will be the same as it has been in past years as an option with games in January through early March and play on each team's home fields. Due to weather, we are strongly encouraging the use of turf fields for these games but each club will arrange its games like they do for DELCO.

To indicate which level you are considering playing, please check off on the winter league registration page either Early Winter League/Short season or Traditional Winter League.

4) Cup Qualification League – If a team wants this to be their USYS cup qualifying league then per the cup rules there must be a minimum of 4 teams per division and each team must play each other (min of three games) before the cup games begin (league rules) These teams can opt to play just the min of 3 games or more games and will coordinate that with the winter commissioner when they register.

5) Geographically organized divisions - We will group divisions by local geographies as much as possible to ensure local play for all division except D1. If you indicate D1 on your team’s online registration form we know you are looking to play the best talent regardless of distance. All other divisions will be grouped in local areas to reduce unnecessary travel time to games.

Other Important Information

The game schedules will have a certain amount of flexibility as the winter game commissioner will attempt to work around team conflicts. Game reports will be collected online just as is done for the fall and spring with standings only being kept for proof of games played for cup qualifications There will there be no playoffs at the end of the season or trophies awarded.

(Special Note: If any team is a no show for a game, the team will be fined & the club will be placed in bad standing until the fine is paid. They will also be responsible for the full referee fee for any game they are a no show for as well due immediately to the referee assignor of that game to be paid to the referees. )

The winter season team registration fee for a new team that did not previously play this past fall season in Delco is $360.00 (including insurance)

If a team U12-19 that played in the 2016 Fall season and now wants to register for the winter using their existing roster the team fee is $195.00 as they already have rosters and passes registered thru Delco that they used for the Fall this year.

Fees need to be sent in to the league right after you register your team and all fees need to be received by Nov 19th or you will be dropped from the league

Teams will be responsible on game day for 1/2 referee fees to be paid prior to the start of the game. These fees are not included in the above registration fees.

Please note that start dates are tentative and will be adjusted according to what season you sign up for. If you are doing the early/short season games will begin before the regular full winter season schedule in order to get games played earlier per the teams’ request.

* November 26th- Winter Registration Closes and last day checks due to League
* November 26th - (team & field availability due) - no information submitted to the league means you have no fields for home games and can play anytime.
* Dec 3rd - Brackets and Schedules released (all teams must be paid to be in the schedule)

* December 8th/15th- Winter games first playable day of the season (pending teams' availability)*

Short Season
Weekends will be grouped on weekend days per team availability

Saturdays/Sundays between 12/8 and 3/4 Sunday games may not start before noon unless BOTH teams agree

Delegates must register the club first

Once club is registered teams can register

Player Registration Instructions are posted online on the league's website

All player registration is done online at the EPYS website Contact Lori our league registrar if you have any questions pertaining to player registration for the winter at [email protected] Do not contact the EPYS office for information about Delco player registration they will just refer you back to Lori.

Requests for player registration and passes must be to the league registrar no later than the Monday before your first game. Any request made after that will not be processed in time for your game. The registrar needs to have time to verify the information submitted. You can request approval anytime earlier if your team is ready in the system.
